A high-performance battery pack may also be used in the upcoming Gen 4 electric scooter.
Ather Energy introduced the 450X Gen 3 electric scooter earlier this year, with significant improvements over the previous generation. The company appears to be working on the Ather 450X Gen 4 electric scooter, which would offer improved performance and altered chassis geometry. Ather Energy has been granted permission to develop a new battery pack that could power the next-generation scooter. The certificate revealed information about the battery pack, such as its power output and design.
The approval certificate issued to Ather Energy, as discovered by 91Mobiles, indicates that the upcoming Gen 4 model will have a capacity of 3.66kWh and a weight of 22kg. According to the document, this battery pack would have a Warp Mode rating of 6.4kW, up from the Gen 3's previous rating of 6.2kW. Sport Mode produces 5.8kW of peak power, Ride Mode produces 3.2kW, and Smart Eco Mode and Eco Mode produce 2.3kW and 1.9kW of peak power, respectively.
Ather 450X Gen 4 has a new design.
The previously mentioned motor information is classified as Setting 1 and may apply to the X model. Setting 2 reduces power output for thirty minutes and is likely to be associated with the Plus model of the next Ather electric scooter. Setting 2 also lacks Warp Mode, which makes sense given that the base Plus model is more cost-effective in terms of both power and price. According to the document, the certified ranges for Setting 1 and Setting 2 are 146km and 108km, respectively.
The performance boost is expected on an Ather 450X successor, but the document also reveals that the battery pack will cause a change in the vehicle's chassis geometry. The entire appearance of the upcoming Ather 450X would change due to the change in chassis design, making it look drastically different from the previous generation. The dimensions of the Ather 450X Gen 4 may be 4mm wider, 136mm lower, and 1mm longer. The 12-inch rims on the upcoming electric scooter may also be replaced by 10-inch rims.
