Bollywood Blind Item: Senior Superstar Wasn't Approached For Sequel

This evergreen senior superstar has been part of the industry for close to four decades. After playing lead roles for a major part of his career, he has now transitioned to playing chracter roles in movies. He recently claimed that he was offered a part in the sequel to a blockbuster spy thriller which is going to release soon. He claimed that he regrets not taking up on that offer. As per a source, this is a blatant lie. The senior A-lister who belongs to an illustrious film family & has a famous surname was neevr approached by the filmmaker. The film was actually not supposed to have a sequel. But after shooting for the entire script, the movie turned out to be more than seven hours long. While editing, they found it difficult to decide on the parts which needed to be edited from the movie. That is when they decided to release the movie in two parts, jsut 15-20 days before the movie's release. Before that period, the sequel was not even conceptualized. The rumors of the filmmaker approaching the senior A-lister is totally not possible.

The senior A-lister was one of the biggest challengers to the box office King in the 80's & early 90's. He was widely tipped to succeed the box office King - probably the biggest Hindi movie star ever, after his retirement. But sadly for him, his movie started underperforming after the box office King took a sabbatical. Stars who were junior to him rose to the moment & occupied the top slots. While he gave the odd box office hits, he wasn't as banakable as he used to be in the 80's & early 90's. It must have been painful to see much younger stars race past him to grab the box office crown. He is rumored to have asked his outsider actress GF - who went on to become the box office Queen, to not work with the box office King of the 70's, 80's & 90's era. He hoped that stopping her from working with his rival would help him topple the rival from his perch. Alas!
