Kartik Aryan was the first choice for the role of Sundar and was signed to play Divvyendu’s role in ‘BATTI GUL METER CHALU‘ but he left the movie midway to join ‘Sonu ki Titu ki Sweety’. SKTKS has given a lot to Kartik’s career.
Kartik managed a meeting between Shree Narayan Singh and Bhushan Kumar to compensate for the decision and this thing got brushed off. Shree Narayan Singh is said to have lashed out on Kartik intially for the decision but he later made up with him after the film got saved.
Well, I feel it was a good to switch to Sonu ki Titu ki Sweety rather than going with Batti Gul Meter CHalu as we all know no one would have played Sonu’s role better than Kartik when the co-stars were Sunny Singh and Nushrratt Bharuchha. Also SKTKS did better on the box office. It was definately because of the Pyaar ka Panchnama trio. There would have been chances of BGMC doing better than what it did if it had Kartik in place of Divvyendu.
