Since his ODI debut, he has not been in his sublime form in the format, so there were question marks all around him and his place in the Indian team. He showed his class and proved his worth to those who were raising questions about his place on the team. He has also been selected for India’s World Cup 2023, which is going to be held in India starting in October.

This was his third half century in the ODI format, but the main thing was that he played under pressure and built a match-turning partnership with Indian skipper and wicketkeeper Kl Rahul.

Surya Kumar Yadav scored his third ODI half century.

In the match, Surya Kumar Yadav was under pressure because the last time he played against the Aussies, he did not score a single run in the series. All the time, he got out on zero. This time, he took his time and tried to bat deep. He came to bat at number six after the dismissal of Ishan Kishan. In his inning, he sent five balls to the boundary along the ground and one through the arial root. He scored 50 runs in just 49 balls and endorsed India to win the match.

In his interview, in the post-match presentation, he also mentioned that it was the inning he had been waiting for since the start of his career, and he expressed his happiness on his half century.

He threaded a match-turning partner ship with skipper Kl Rahul.

After a flourishing start given by both openers, India lost a quick wicket and found the team in trouble. He joined the company of Kl Rahul at the crease and pulled India from a pressure situation to a commanding situation. At the end, the men in blue beat the opposition by five wickets.
