According to reports, Raj Kapoor's one-acre bungalow property in the eastern suburb of Chembur was sold to Godrej Properties for a whopping Rs 100 crore. According to Pirojsha Godrej, executive chairman of Godrej Properties, the land developers expect a revenue of roughly Rs 500 crore from the project. The property is on Deonar Farm Road in Chembur, adjacent the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) and is considered an upscale residential area in Chembur. The land was purchased from the Kapoor family, who were the legal heirs of Raj Kapoor, a well-known film director and producer.
